DId you know that...

... running on sand burns 1.6 times more calories per mile than running on a hard surface such as asphalt?! It also strengthens all muscles below knee a lot better.

  1. I was aware of this, same with grass, I do not know if the figure for grass is the same, but i def know it does burn more calories

  8. I did know that - it's also not as hard on your joints, because the sand's give when you step on it (the same reason it burns more calories, you have to work a bit harder to push through it) is easier on your knees.
